See you later Sacramento. I'm off to Montana

But first a quick stop in Seattle.  After 23 and a half hours on a bus, I finally got to join my hiking team. Veggie, ED and Crosby. I met Veggie and ED while on the CDT last year. They hiked with Crosby for a while out there on the CDT and they even finished together.  This was my first time getting to meet him. A nice surprise when I arived in Seattle was getting to see the Darkness. She also was on the CDT in '15 and came to hang with us all. We drove to REI and I got the socks I couldn't find in Sac and tried to convince the Darkness to join our team. She reluctantly declined. We all hoped on a ferry across Puget Sound. On the Ferry we hear someone call out, "HikerTrash"  It was Stumbling Norwegian and Honeybee. They are PNT veterans and were on there way to have dinner with us. As well as to go over some trail Q&A. We get across the water, off the ferry we go and get into Glen(Veggies New Van) We head to her moms place and find she has dinner already ready for us. What a great way to ease into a trip. After dinner we head outside to enjoy a fire with the sound of the sea in the background.  It feels good to relax with great people before a long trek. Soon the mountains will be under and behind us but for now we bonfire.

NEXT UP THE PNT

It's been a little while since being on the Hayduke Trail. After hitching back to Cali from Utah, I've just been bouncing around the Southern sections of the PCT doing some small trail magic and helping some Trail Angels get set up. Then ended up work staying at The Hostel California Bishop for the past 40 days. Greeting the early snow trudging hikers while doing my best to keep them out of the snow for as long as possible. While there I also got the chance to learn how to rock climb. Some of California's best and most famous climbing is in Bishop. During all this time in-between the HDT and Now... I've done a total of 3 days out hiking. It was in the Inyo Mountain range. That was over a month ago. My feet are getting really itchy. Not completing the HDT left me feeling a bit blah. Like I hadn't spent enough nights under the stars this year. So the  Pacific Northwest Trail  here I come. A 1,200 mile long trail starting in Montana and hiking west towards the Coast of Washington. I'll go through the Rocky Mountains, Eastern Washington, North Cascades, Puget Sound and the Olympic Region.  I'm pretty jazzed to get out there and see this Americas North-West nice and up close.
